The 6L80 is a General Motors- built six-speed automatic transmission. It was launched at the end of 2005 and is very comparable in layout to the narrower 6L45, manufactured in France at GM Powertrain. It features clutch shifting to clutch, eliminating the one-way clutches used in older transmission models.

 Chevrolet truck transmissions are possibly some of the worst transmissions on the planet. We repair, on average, two Chevy truck transmissions a week.
